Emergency Response Unit

Stroke Ready Centre

Every Second Counts. Every Brain Cell Matters. NHS Neurocare provides rapid, advanced stroke care when minutes mean the difference between damage and recovery.

A brain stroke is a life-threatening medical emergency that occurs when the blood supply to a part of the brain is interrupted or when a blood vessel in the brain ruptures. Without oxygen and nutrients, brain cells begin to die within minutes, affecting essential functions such as speech, movement, memory, vision, balance and coordination.

Early diagnosis and immediate treatment can significantly reduce brain damage, improve recovery and save lives.

At NHS Neurocare (A Unit of NHS Hospital, Jalandhar), we understand that every minute matters. Our dedicated Stroke Ready Centre has been developed to provide rapid diagnosis, advanced treatment and comprehensive rehabilitation for patients with acute stroke. Led by Dr. Sandeep Goel, DM Neurology, with over 27+ years of experience, our multidisciplinary team combines clinical expertise with cutting-edge technology to deliver evidence-based stroke management.

T

Time to Call

If the person shows any of these symptoms, call our emergency helpline immediately.

Intravenous Thrombolysis

Clot-busting medication (tPA) administered within the Golden Hour window (up to 4.5 hours from symptom onset) to dissolve blood clots and restore blood flow to the brain.

Mechanical Thrombectomy

A minimally invasive procedure where an interventional radiologist routes a microcatheter to the blocked brain artery to physically retrieve and remove the clot.

Neurosurgical Management

Immediate surgical intervention (decompressive craniectomy) for hemorrhagic strokes to manage swelling, relieve intracranial pressure, and repair ruptured aneurysms.

Comprehensive Neuro-Rehabilitation
